28 New UKCA Coaches To Qualify This Weekend! #ThisGirlCan

Here at the UK Cheerleading Association we are focussed on involving new and existing members with our educational training programmes. We train and coach thousands of UK based Cheerleaders across the Country. We really enjoy our courses, meeting new members and helping them to grow.

This is especially great in regards of our weekend courses which can be more intense as these are usually Level 4 training courses. Some of our more advanced classes can span over 4 days, these are great ways to expand your knowledge. Head over to our Coaching Pathway here and find the best option for you to take on your Cheerleading journey. We run an advanced Intermediate Stunts course once a year which is more instensive and requires a lot of resources. We’re looking to run more and more courses throughout the year.

Host a Course in 2015!

We often receive queries surrounding courses across The UK & NI. We organise many courses however, if you are struggling to source an event near you then you can easily host a course. This is a fantastic way to boost your qualifications within your Cheer squad, which then allows you to compete at a higher level in our competitions which run throughout the year.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in doing then please do not hesitate to contact us here. You only need a minimum of 10 people on your course for it to go ahead. To host a closed course means that you will source the entrants, however, an open course will allow people to book & register their attendance. It is up to you which kind of course you would like to hold. The maximum amount of people who can attend your event is 30, unless another number is agreed with The UKCA when booking.

We will support your event completely by providing promotional posters for you & emailing them over to you in advance of your course. Please be aware that if your course involves tumbling & stunting you must make sure that you have the appropriate mats and gymnastic equipment at your venue. This is important in regards of safety for all involved. Lunch is an important aspect of the day which must be organised. You’ll need to let people know whether they need to bring food with them or if there are facilities at your chosen venue.

Hosting a course is a great way to utilise your organisational skills & help others in the UKCA build on their talents.

Level 4 Course in Manchester

This weekend we had great success at our Level 4 Courses held in Manchester. The event was held at Wright Robinson College, Manchester and was a roaring success! The course was ran fantastically by several volunteer Cheerleaders, and all participants of the course passed which was a fantastic achievement for all involved.

Everyone’s success was particularly special as the Level 4 courses are so advanced, requiring such a high level of skill, yet all of our UKCA members passed – so a big congratulations is due for you ladies! The Level 4 course teaches a large variety of skills and moves throughout Cheerleading. We have some lovely images of the talented Cheerers themselves having a lovely weekend!

Cedars Academy Basic Cheer Skills Course

Are you thinking about engaging with one of our available Cheerleading courses?

Well if so, here is a fantastic sneak peak at what goes on at our course based events! We have some behind the scenes footage from the Level 2 Cheerleading Basic Skills @ Cedars Academy – Basic Cheer Skills Course on 28th October in Bedfordshire. Our courses can range through from small teams to larger groups of Cheerleaders and coaches. It simply depends on the area and which course we are running. As you can see from these photos this was a rather busy course! However, this does not mean that you will miss out being in a large group, as during all courses we help and guide our Cheerleaders to make sure that everybody is at the same level. Instead, this just means that you have the opportunity to meet more Cheerers!

Courses are a fantastic way to broaden your skills and learn more moves which can be incorporated into routines with your squad, or alone. You will also be able to help others on your team due to the extra training which you have received. It is always best to keep up with your training and skills with us here at The UKCA, as it will work to enhance your talents within Cheerleading.

Overall, we highly suggest you sign up to our courses to keep your moves as fresh as possible. It is also a fantastic way to move and progress into different areas of Cheering. For example, if you specialise in pom dance but would like to move into street cheer, then you can use our courses to your advantage to do so!

The courses that we run are not just relevant to Cheerleaders alone, but to coaches as well! Are you a committed Cheerer in your area? Maybe you have considered becoming a coach? If so, why not see where our coaching classes are next running? You could end up in a position where you are able to run your own cheer class. You could even end up coaching your very own Cheer squad! This is a great opportunity to broaden your skills and involve others in a rewarding team activity!

As you increase your skill set throughout the training process and by involving yourself in our courses then you can soon reach higher levels elsewhere in Cheerleading. The more courses which you successfully complete, along with the many certificates which you will receive, will eventually mean that you can compete at higher levels.
