1 Day til the National Schools’ Championship!

There’s only 1 day left until the National Schools’ Championship hits the Manchester Velodrome for 2 days of high energy Cheerleading! We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow, we wish all the very best of luck to all of the teams and Cheerleaders.

If you are a spectator looking forward to the Competition, then we can assure you that this is going to be an incredible event! Like us on Facebook here & follow us on twitter here to keep up with more of our competition news.

We’d also like to welcome back all of the teams who have previously competed with us, but if this is your first competition then welcome! It will be amazing to see all of the teams in Manchester for another incredible UKCA competition.

We are proud of you!

28 New UKCA Coaches To Qualify This Weekend! #ThisGirlCan

Here at the UK Cheerleading Association we are focussed on involving new and existing members with our educational training programmes. We train and coach thousands of UK based Cheerleaders across the Country. We really enjoy our courses, meeting new members and helping them to grow.

This is especially great in regards of our weekend courses which can be more intense as these are usually Level 4 training courses. Some of our more advanced classes can span over 4 days, these are great ways to expand your knowledge. Head over to our Coaching Pathway here and find the best option for you to take on your Cheerleading journey. We run an advanced Intermediate Stunts course once a year which is more instensive and requires a lot of resources. We’re looking to run more and more courses throughout the year.

So it’s great to announce that we are training 28 new UK Cheerleading coaches this weekend across the North West and the West Midlands. We are bringing more and more Cheerleaders and females lathes to the This Girl Can campaign. We also work in conjuction with many other sport and charity organisations such as Youth Sport Trust, Greater Sport, Sporting Promise, Manchester City Council, Halbro Sportswear and Milano. So if you want to get involved with the This Girl Can movement then enrol on a course with us now & start exercising with ‘The Sport of Smiles’.

Good luck to all our members who are training this weekend! We will see you all soon at the UKCA National Championships 2015 at the Manchester Velodrome.

We are proud of you!

The UKCA & This Girl Can

The UK Cheerleading Association is proud to announce that we are an Official partner of, This Girl Can. As Cheerleading is a predominantly female sport, we are incredibly excited to be part of this female campaign. The UKCA brings 200,000 girls to the programme, who are already involved with many sports covered by This Girl Can.

The This Girl Can project developed by Sport England, supports female exercise and sporting activities, praising women for their participation, no matter their appearance when doing so. This is an important issue which needs to be addressed as, “Fear of judgement is stopping many of us from taking part in exercise. But as thousands of women up and down the country are proving, it really doesn’t have to” – This Girl Can.

This Girl Can aims to get women feeling inspired about their involvement in sport & the empowering message presented by This Girl Can is also echoed within The UKCA. “This Girl Can is here to inspire women to wiggle, jiggle, move and prove that judgement is a barrier that can be overcome.” Modern society and popular culture dictate that women must look their best at all times, but This Girl Can challenges these topics, bringing the issue into mainstream debate.

On their website you can, “Meet the stars of our campaign who are doing what they do, and letting nothing (not even sweat) stand in their way.” Using the hashtag #ThisGirlCan connect with them via Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Vine, YouTube, Google+.

If you aren’t already involved then join the movement by heading over to, This Girl

We are proud of you!
