NI National Schools & Club Championships 2019 – ENTRY DEADLINE SOON



2019 promises to be another exciting year of competitive Cheerleading with the UKCA and our first of five competitions is right around the corner.

The NI National Schools & Club Championships 2019 take place on Saturday 23rd February at the Antrim Forum Leisure Centre following the annual Antrim & Newtownabbey Primary School Festival on Friday 22nd. The event will see Cheer athletes compete in Cheerleading, Group Stunt, Partner Stunt, Pom Dance, Cheer Dance, Urban Cheer and Pom Dance Doubles categories.

Competition entries, which cost Β£15.00 per entry, close very soon (Monday 14th January 2019). Hit the ground running with our first competitive Cheer opportunity of the year – ENTER NOW.

European Cheerleading Championships 2018

As we’re sure you are all aware, last weekend the 2018 European Cheerleading Championships were held in the Netherlands.

The Maaspoort Arena in Den Bosch hosted more than 1,750 athletes from nine nations competed for the medals in 34 different categories. The two day event showcased some of the most talented Cheer athletes on the continent in front of a tremendous audience. The event was also streamed live on Youtube for people all over the world to see.

Teams from Great Britain smashed it winning 15 gold medals, 7 silver and 10 bronze and picked up the Spirit Award on BOTH days! Amazing!

Overall Great Britain placed second in the Medal Rankings behind winners Germany.

NI National Schools & Club Championships 2018 – Review


This weekend saw the annual NI National Schools & Club Championships take place at the Antrim Forum!

The event started on Friday with primary schools from across the country taking part in the annual Antrim & Newtownabbey Primary School Festival 2018 before the nation’s Cheerleading clubs competed for glory in the NI Cheerleading Championships 2018 on Saturday.

The weekend included athletes competing in different levels and disciplines and of course for the competition’s Spirit Award.

The all important Gateley Spirit Award went to Goldrush and their Head Coach Megan O’Kane!

We hope you all had an amazing festive season and rested yourselves after rounding off 2017 with a bang at the UKCA Winter Cheerleading Championships! Don’t get too comfy though, the first UKCA competition of 2018 is upon us and entries close very soon!

NI National Schools & Club Championships 2018

The annual NI National Schools & Club Championships 2018 takes place on Saturday 24th February at the Antrim Forum Leisure Centre. The competition will cover Cheerleading, Group Stunt, Partner Stunt, Pom Dance, Cheer Dance, Street Cheer & Freestyle and Pom Dance Doubles categories. As always it promises to be a fantastic event!

UKCA Competition Highlights 2017 so far…

After an immensely successful Spring and Summer of UKCA Cheer that finished with Team UK achieving their best EVER ECC results at the European Cheerleading Championships 2017 in Zadar, Croatia, we wanted to share all of the highlights from the year so far all in one place!

The season started with the UKCA National Cheerleading Championships 2017:

Followed swiftly by the UKCA Northern Ireland National Championships 2017:

After a blistering start to the Cheerleading season we returned to the National Cycling Centre in Manchester for the UKCA Spring Cheerleading Championships 2017:

Our final competition at the Manchester Velodrome before the European Cheerleading Championships 2017 was the UKCA National Schools’ Cheerleading Championships 2017:

Must have turned 12 on day of competition
Cannot be older than 16 on day of competition

Must be over the age of 16 on day of competition

Criteria

Athletes must have competed in a UKCA 2016 competition
Athletes must also commit to compete in a UKCA 2017 competition

Northern Ireland Championships 2016

This weekend brought round the first official UKCA Championships of 2016 and what a weekend it was! As expected the weekend kicked off in typical UKCA fashion with lots of infectious cheering and dancing.

The weekend saw routines from Tiny Teenies, Teenies, Junior and Senior Cheerleaders in both Cheerleading and Stunting categories, Cheer Dance routines, Street Cheer performances, Pom Dance and of course the Freestylers! As always the standard was very high and the level of support from everybody over the weekend was exceptional.

We love seeing our competitors supporting each other throughout the Championships, after all that is what it’s all about, having fun and making friends through the Sport. Congratulations to this years winners of the Milano Spirit Award their unwavering positivity throughout the comp and their unmissable cheer spirit was felt everywhere! We are proud of you, say we are proud of you!

UKCA would like to thank everybody who was involved in the event including competitors, coaches who prepare our teams, parents who give their support, our wonderful volunteers and judges. These competitions show us your progress and reinforce that Cheerleading is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK.

How To: Use Our Club Management Tool

Welcome to the new UKCA Club Management tools.

Firstly you’ll want to be in your dashboard, click here to go to your dashboard (don’t worry it’ll open in a new window) If you don’t have an account with us you can register here.

Your dashboard will look like this

Click the option “Create a Club/Squad”

You will be taken to this page where you can enter some info about your club/squad.

Create Club 2

Once you click “Submit” your club/squad will be created and you can then add your Teams.

Now from Manage Your Club/ Squad from your dashboard your newly created club will be listed here. Click on manage to add teams, cheerleaders and coaches to the club.

Here you can add as many teams as you want to your club by clicking on Add A Team. It is important to try and add all of your teams, including any competition specific teams.

REMEMBER A CHEERLEADER CAN BE IN MORE THAN ONE TEAM & THIS IS TO MAKE COMPETITION ENTRY AS EASY AS POSSIBLE

Please note: You can also choose to add coaches to your club here as well.

This is where you can add your cheerleaders to your club/squad and its teams.

Simply enter the email address, First and Last Name and date of birth. The system will then search for any accounts that match these details and add them to your club.

If they are not in our system, they will be added to your club and emailed (assuming you enter their email address) Welcoming them to the UKCA.

From the Team management tool you will be able to drag and drop the cheerleaders you added, to the the teams that you created previously.

If you need to make any changes to your clubs/squads, teams or cheerleaders there is a “Manage Your Clubs/Squads” option in the dashboard

How To: Enter A Competition

So firstly you need to have created all your clubs & teams and added your cheerleaders to those.

If you aren’t sure how to do this you can follow our guide here

So once you’ve done that you find the competition you wish to enter in our competition diary (Please note the competition entry system is only for official UKCA competition)

Select the competition you wish to enter and scroll down until you see the button as below.

Once you’ve clicked this you may need to sign in, if you don’t have an account we suggest you register and then use the club management tools mentioned earlier on.

There are a large number of available categories, simply click to expand the categories then you can drag and drop your teams in.

Step 3: Enter Cheerleaders for Freestyle

Step 4: Review your entry and add helpers and any additional coaches that are attending the competition.
