A Message from Southport Scorpions

Thank you

We received this wonderful message from the Southport Scorpions:

I’d just like to say thank you for making the squad feel really welcome on Saturday. It was such a brilliant day. The friendliness of all staff and competitors put the girls at ease and they can’t wait to perform again.

We’ll definitely enter again in March and May. Thanks again and see you soon!

Emma
Southport Scorpions coach

We just had to share this message with you all as it was you that made the Winter Championships into what they were!

You should all be so proud of yourselves.

Great Little Britons

Did you catch the Sky 1 show, Great Little Britons? You may have noticed some familiar faces in last Thursday’s show.

Great Little Britons was a series of six one-off documentaries shining a light on some of the nation’s most dedicated perfectionists. Be it profession or hobby, the show examines those who strive for excellence in their chosen pursuit, as they compete to be winners in their field.

Bullettes

Sky auditioned teams from all over the country to find the best cheer team for the show and chose the Bullettes from Panache Cheer school to be the stars of the show. It followed the team through their tough training regime led by Head Coach, Robyn Morrison. The team auditioned for new members into their elite squad and will be entering the UKCA Winter Open Pom Dance Championships in November.

We are thrilled to have one of our teams featured on the television showing the hard work and dedication that all cheerleaders put into their craft. There was even a cameo from our resident compère, DJ Caino!

Congratulations to all the Panache Cheerleaders and staff!

We are proud of you. We say we are proud of you!

Kobika Starlites New Home

The Kobika Starlites have a new home for training. The recently opened Redgrave Sports Centre at Great Marlow School has welcomed training sessions for the UKCA team.

Redgrave Sports Centre

The centre, which was officially opened by Matalan Sporting Promise ambassador and Olympic legend, Sir Steve Redgrave, on Thursday 9th May.

The sporting centre named after Britain’s most successful Olympian has a range of facilities including a dance studio, sports hall and fitness centre.

Penrith’s Ullswater Community College

We love reading about the UKCA’s team’s successes in the press.

Penrith’s Ullswater Community College, who competed and won trophies in this year’s National School’s Championships, have been featured in the Cumberland News.

The squad boasts 41 members aged 11 to 15 and are now plotting how to go even better next time around.

Brooke School Cheerleaders

Brooke Allstarz (primary) and Brooke Twirly Birds (secondary) cheerleading squads from Rugby in Warwickshire were formed four years ago. They started out as lunchtime clubs run by teaching assistants who attended the UKCA Cheerleading Coaches course.

Awards Ceremony

They wowed the judges four years ago at their first Nationals and we was so blown away by their talent that we gave them their own category, Special Schools Disability. This allowed them to compete with their mainstream peers.

The team has won numerous awards at the Special Schools County Championships and Special Schools Nationals so it was a privilege to have them compete at this year’s National School’s Championships at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester.

Brooke Cheerleaders

Following their performance, we received this thank you message from the team:

I wanted to say a big thank you to the UKCA and all its helpers and volunteers for making our trip to the Nationals on Saturday such a fantastic day. You are all so kind, helpful and accommodating which takes the stress out the day for us and means we can enjoy everything without having to think or worry about a thing.

Our cheerleaders were thrilled with their 1st and 2nd places and the trophies too of course. My self and the other coaches were totally shocked with our very unexpected trophy for Schools Development and we are also very excited and thrilled to be recognised for our hard work.

Many, many thanks for a wonderful day.

Sharon

We are glad you’re thrilled with the trophies, very much deserved!

Thank you from the Saxons

Everyone is still recovering from the amazing European Championships and with good reason there was some amazing talent on display.

Team Saxon sent us some pictures of the squad representing the UKCA in our t-shirts and a lovely message. We couldn’t resist sharing it with everyone.

Thank you very much for a great weekend! What incredible performances and results for all of the UK teams! It was just brilliant and we loved every minute of it. Thank you for affording the Saxons the opportunity to represent the UK…we hope we did you proud!
