Set up your own club for 2017!

Setting up a Cheerleading Club can be a very exciting and rewarding challenge. You can help young people develop their sporting career and make new friends whilst doing something they love. As well as training and youth development, UKCA clubs also create competitive opportunities with clubs being eligible to enter the UKCA annual competitions. Sound like something you’d be interested in? You can set up a club today…

Before you set up a club, you must ensure you have:

Qualifications – the correct level of qualification is essential before any coaching takes place.

Insurance – every coach/club/squad needs insurance as the safety of the Cheerleaders is priority.

DBS Certificate – every adult working with young or vulnerable adults is required by law to have a valid DBS check.

First Aid Certificate – every adult working with young or vulnerable adults should have a valid first aid certificate.

These are just a few of our key points for setting up a club, you can find the rest of the requirements on our website by visiting https://ukca.org.uk/clubs/setting-up-a-club/

Once you’re club is set up you can then enter your club into any of our Cheerleading competitions! UKCA competitions are exciting events where everyone is encouraged to take part, demonstrate a high level of skills and have fun.

You can find a list of our competitions on our website or go to https://ukca.org.uk/upcoming-competitions/ where you will find a list of our upcoming competitions.

Start off your January with a UKCA course!

Want to learn something new? Why not challenge yourself this year by partaking in one of our many Cheerleading courses. You can join a course whether or not you’re starting from scratch or looking to improve skills that you already have.

The UKCA offer an extensive range of courses for Coaches, Cheerleaders, Judges, Event Officials and Volunteers across the UK.

If you’re struggling to find the most appropriate course for you, you can also use our helpful online Course Finder to narrow down the best suited course for you. You can find our Course Finder on our website under the pink ‘Education’ banner or visit this link: https://ukca.org.uk/education/course-finder/

All of our upcoming courses are on our website, which can be found here: https://ukca.org.uk/education/upcoming-courses/ click on the course box to find more detailed information about each one, or to book your place.

If you have a suitable venue, you can host your own course. This is an ideal solution for Schools, Organisations or Clubs who need qualifications for Coaches, Cheerleaders, Young Leaders or Volunteers. You can find out more about hosting your own course by clicking here: https://ukca.org.uk/education/host-a-course/
