UKCA Spring Championships 2018 – What A Weekend!

This weekend saw the UKCA Spring Championships 2018 rock Belle Vue Sports Village in Manchester with a festival of Cheer! Cheerleaders from far and wide made the trip to a new UKCA venue in scorching weather for another weekend of competitive Cheerleading.

The competition got off to a blistering start with the athletes galvanised by the electric atmosphere created by the spectators and fellow Cheerleaders in the stands! Day 1 saw a mixture of Cheerleading, Group Stunt and Partner Stunt performances and also included 2 awards ceremonies and the first of the weekend’s Mascot Showdowns. Our wonderful compères, Jason and Michelle, kept the energy high and made sure everyone was kept up-to-date with the goings on at the Royal Wedding!

The Gateley Spirit Award for Day 1 went to Fusion

After a dazzling second day where we were treated to Pom Dance, Cheer Dance and Urban Cheer routines the Insure4Sport Spirit Award was awarded to Eclipse!

Well done to everyone who performed this weekend you smashed it! The full list of results are now live on the UKCA website:

2017 Competition Highlights

After an immensely successful year, both domestically and internationally for UK Cheerleading, we wanted to share all of the highlights with you from our 2017 competition season! 2017 has been a special year and we’d like to thank everybody involved in making it happen!

The season started with the UKCA National Cheerleading Championships 2017:

Followed swiftly by the UKCA Northern Ireland National Championships 2017:

After a blistering start to the Cheerleading season we returned to the National Cycling Centre in Manchester for the UKCA Spring Cheerleading Championships 2017:

Shortly before the European Cheerleading Championships 2017 was the UKCA National Schools’ Cheerleading Championships 2017:

Before our final competition of the year, Team UK competed in the European Cheerleading Championships achieving their best ever results in the competition meaning confidence was high as they flew out to Japan to represent the country at the 19th Cheerleading Worlds Championships in November.

No sooner had the dust settled from an exceptional showing amongst some of the best Cheerleaders in the world and our final domestic competition of the year rolled around. We ended the year with a bang at the National cycling centre with the UKCA winter Cheerleading Championships on the 2nd and 3rd December.
