We had so much fun at The National Schools Championships 2014!

First of all we would like to happily announce that the GB Swimmer Lauren Quigley has been given the title of, the Official UKCA Ambassador! She came along at the weekend to show her support for the competition and we had a brilliant time with her. It is an honour to have such a talented and inspirational lady as our Ambassador.

“Such an honour and proud to be asked and now named as an ambassador for The UKCA!” – Lauren Quigley, follow her on Twitter @LaurenAQuigley to see what’s she’s up to.

Well, we had a fantastic weekend at the Manchester Velodrome for The National Schools Championships! The level of skill and talent we saw over the weekend really blew us away!

Congratulations to all the teams who performed across the Saturday and the Sunday, you should all be so proud of yourselves. Whether you were involved with Cheerleading, Pom dance or Street Cheer, there were so many teams that really impressed us – the freestylers were great too!

We would like to give a big thank you and well done to the Insure4Sport Spirit Award winners, The Radclyffe School and the Milano Spirit Award winners, Tintwistle! Your encouragement and support over the weekend was incredible!

A massive thank you to all the coaches for putting so much effort into choreographing the routines, and making sure the squads were ready for the competition! Coaches play such an important role within The UKCA! Don’t forget to show your support for the UKCA coach Vicky Holwarth by donating to help fund her dreams of Rio 2016 here

We would also like to give a big thank you to all the volunteers who worked so hard over the weekend to ensure everything was perfect! Your input, help and support was so important in making the weekend the success that it was! Your efforts are second to none and it’s truly amazing the support that we receive from associations such as The Teenage Cancer Trust

But, of course we can’t forget to thank all the parents, friends and family who came along and gave their support. The banners, signs and special posters made by so many of you really added to the atmosphere of the weekend, and each year the crowd input gets more and more impressive!

Who could forget DJ Jimmy, Jason and the DJ Caino takeover? Our Instagram was officially hijacked by the UKCA’s resident Compere DJ Caino! Check out our account: http://instagram.com/theukca to see what the master of mischief got up to! #cainotakeover

Don’t forget to go to our Facebook page here and Twitter: @UKCheerleading for everything on stage and back stage from the National Schools Championships!

It was so lovely to see the sweets brought in, cupcakes baked, and especially the all around team spirit from everyone involved with The UKCA!

Finally, thank you to absolutely everyone who was involved, we loved your spirit!
