Last weekend saw the return of The UK Cheerleading Association to the Manchester Velodrome for The National Championships 2015! We were absolutely thrilled to welcome all of our UKCA members, coaches, volunteers and spectators back for another great weekend of ‘The Sport of Smiles’. With so many different cheer categories across the weekend, it was fantastic to see such a wide range of cheerleading talent! From Tiny Teenies to Senior Group Stunt there were so many fantastic performances across the weekend. In this week’s blog we are going to share some of our favourite aspects of the weekend with you. Firstly, we would like to congratulate Katie from Kobika Starlites on winning our UKCA Coach of The Year Award! Our coaches are a really big part of The UKCA as an organisation and all of our squads wouldn’t be at the level they are now without the help, training and guidance from our coaches, so well done to you all.
We’d also like to give a big thank you to our UKCA Comperes who kept the energy alive across 2 days of cheer fun! Also, we’d like to welcome our newest Compere, Ryan. He was great and really brought a fun aspect to the event with his dance moves and Cheer spirit! So a big UKCA thank you goes out to Jason, Lane & Ryan & Vicky! You can find pictures & videos featuring the comperes, performances & spectators on our Instagram, so click here to follow us and keep up with all things UKCA.
Congratulations to Kobika Starlite who took home the Insure 4 Sport Spirit Award and also to The Clarets who were winners of the Milano Spirit Award! To all of the competitors at the weekend you did an amazing job of keeping everybody involved entertained and really showed off the spirit of the UKCA! We hope you managed to catch our friends Halbro, AntCheer and Logobility who were supporting us all weekend with their fantastic cheer products.
Our highlights of the event were the 1,600 Cheerleaders who took part in our #ThisGirlCan photo and the Mexican wave! What was the highlight of your weekend?
Can’t wait to see you all again soon for the Spring Championships in May 2015!
We are proud of you!
Team UKCA.
