On Sunday 11 October 2026, coaches gathered at Buckley Leisure Centre for UKCA Intermediate Tumbling Skills, and we are delighted to share that every coach who attended passed the course. Congratulations to all of you!
A full day of tumbling in Buckley
Led by UKCA tutor Yen Leung, the course ran from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and was built around practical coaching. Coaches recapped the skills covered in Foundation Tumbling, then moved on to handsprings and the tumbling skills used in cheerleading routines, with a strong focus on safe progressions and clear technique.
Intermediate Tumbling Skills is the next step for coaches over 18 who already hold the UKCA Foundation Tumbling for Cheerleaders certificate. It gives coaches the tools to take athletes beyond the basics safely, and it gives clubs confidence that their tumbling is coached well.
Thank you
A big thank you to Yen for leading the day, to Buckley Leisure Centre for hosting us, and to every club that supports its coaches to keep learning. Investing in coach education is one of the best things a club can do for its athletes.
