Sport, music and drama ‘should be part of England’s pupil catch-up’

Extra hours of academic learning – as well as sport, music and drama – will be needed to help England’s pupils make up ground following the pandemic, the new education catch-up tsar says. Sir Kevan Collins said it was important to “act quickly” on making arrangements for the summer and that summer schools “had promise”.


Children’s sport ‘will be prioritised’ when lockdown eases

The Government is making plans for children’s sport to follow schools in being a national priority when lockdown measures are eased. Oliver Dowden, the Culture Secretary, has said that he will be making the argument to cabinet that “kids’ sport should be the last one into the lockdown and the first out.”
