CRB checking service
UKCA is working with RWA Child Protection Services to provide a CRB checking service.
It is essential that anyone working with children, young people or vulnerable adults hold a current enhanced CRB disclosure certificate to show they have been checked.
The fee for an enhanced CRB check is as follows:
Volunteer: £14.40 inc VAT
Paid member of staff: £50.40 inc VAT
Please note: As a result of recent Government changes to the Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS) the cost of an enhanced CRB check will be increased by £8.00 to £58.40 from 6 April 2011. All other fees remain unchanged.
The increase is linked directly to the Government’s recent decision to scale back the VBS to more common sense levels and the resulting cancellation of the requirement to register with the scheme. This increase, which is significantly lower than the intended registration fee of £64.00 will fund the administration costs of the retained elements of the scheme.
Over the coming months the CRB will be working with the Home Office and the Independent safeguarding Authority to develop proposals on how to implement the recommendations from the criminal records and VBS reviews and continue to maintain and enhance the overall performance of the CRB.
